Hepatitis is an inflammatory disease of the liver and can be transmitted in various ways.
Routes of transmission: through contaminated food and water (Hepatitis A, E); through blood, for example non-sterile instruments and blood transfusion (B, C, D); during sexual contact (B, C); from mother to child during birth (B); sharing personal items — toothbrush, razor (B, C).
Methods of protection: Vaccination — vaccination against Hepatitis A and B is the most effective way of protection (Hepatitis B vaccination is performed at our clinic). Hygiene — wash hands frequently, use clean food and water. Safe sexual contact. Sterile instruments — pay attention to sterilization standards when choosing a dentist, manicure, hairdresser and tattoo parlors.
Treatment of Hepatitis B and C: Modern antiviral drugs allow full treatment. Timely diagnosis and the right protocol choice prevent complications such as cirrhosis and liver cancer.
